Eligibility
Age 21–32 years. Bachelor's degree in Animal Husbandry, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Zoology, Agriculture, Forestry, or Engineering.
Selection Process
Preliminary Examination
Same as UPSC CSE Prelims — GS Paper I and CSAT. Shared screening stage.
IFS Main Examination
General English and General Knowledge (qualifying), plus two optional subjects (4 papers total). 1400 marks.
Personality Test
300 marks. Conducted at UPSC Bhavan.

Recruits officers for the Indian Forest Service — one of the All India Services. Candidates first appear in UPSC CSE Prelims, then give a separate IFS Mains.
